Washington County runs along the Vermont border, from the Hudson River towns of Hudson Falls and Fort Edward to the farms, covered bridges and small villages of Greenwich, Cambridge, Salem and Granville. It's one of the most affordable counties in the region, and a good fit for buyers who want land, a farmhouse or a quiet village main street within reach of Saratoga and Glens Falls.
The Capital Region Team at Compass helps buyers and sellers across Washington County.

No. Hudson Falls is a village in the Town of Kingsbury, and Fort Edward is its own town and village just to the south. Fort Edward is the county seat. Village, town and school district lines don't always match, so check all three on any home you're serious about.
Your bill combines county, town or city, and school taxes, and the school tax is usually the largest piece. Rates vary from one town and district to the next. We pull the actual tax history on every home we show you.
Yes. VA loans can be used anywhere in the county, including on multi-family homes up to four units if you live in one of them. We specialize in working with veterans using their VA loan, too!
Yes. Washington County has more open land than most of the Capital Region. Land and farm purchases have extra steps, like checking zoning, perc tests, wells and any agricultural district rules, and we can walk you through them.
