Parks and nature

Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs has mineral springs, golf, pools and walking trails. In the northwest corner, the towns of Hadley, Day and Edinburg sit inside the Adirondack Park, with the Great Sacandaga Lake and the fire tower hike up Hadley Mountain.

History

Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater preserves the battlefield of the 1777 Battles of Saratoga, a turning point of the American Revolution. Schuylerville and Victory hold more sites from the same campaign.

Events and culture

Saratoga Race Course, founded in 1863, runs its summer meet from late July into early September. Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), inside the state park, hosts concerts, the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet in summer.
